Specialization Areas
The textile industry encompasses a wide variety of production processes, and it is not possible to adequately learn all of them within a 4-year education period. In developed countries, textile engineering education is conducted by dividing it into specialized branches.
This approach enables young textile engineers to adapt to their workplaces very quickly. Instead of learning the profession while working in the industry after graduation, they have the opportunity to gain experience by applying what they learned at university while working in the industry.
At Ege University, Textile Engineering students complete basic science and engineering courses along with common textile courses during the first 2 years. They then consciously choose one of the following specialization areas and are trained to specialize in this field during the last 2 years:
|
Textile Technology (Tekstil Teknolojisi) Yarn Production, Weaving, Knitting, Nonwovens |
Textile Finishing (Tekstil Terbiyesi) Dyeing, Printing, Finishing, Pretreatment |
Apparel (Konfeksiyon) Garment Design, Pattern Making, Production Planning |
