Weaving Unit

 

Weaving Unit
  • Looms: Sulzer, Picanol, Dornier (scrap), narrow fabric and jacquard systems (some training-use only), CCI SL8900 Automatic Sample Weaving Loom.
  • Preparation: Warping, sizing, winding.
Capabilities:
  • Fabric structural design (dobby, twill, satin, jacquard limited).
  • Narrow woven functional materials (e.g., conductive ribbons, biomedical tapes).

Knitting Unit

 

Knitting Unit
  • Flat and circular knitting: Shima Seiki, Stoll, Fouquet, Mayer & Cie, Terrot .
  • Pattern design: SDS-ONE APEX, Stoll M1, Mesdan Lab Knitter.
Capabilities:
  • Prototyping smart knitted structures, sensors, and embedded electronics.
  • Seamless garment development (e.g., gloves, compression wear).
  • 3D-knit pattern creation with advanced CAD.
  • Technical and medical knitwear development.

Nonwoven Surfaces Unit

 

Nonwoven Unit
  • Web formation technologies: Needle-punching, meltblown, airlaid, Tafting.
  • Polymer extrusion and functionalization: Twin-screw extruder, coating unit.
  • Recycling line: Mechanical recycling of polymeric/textile waste.
  • Characterization: EM shielding, electrical resistance, balances, oven, mixers.

  • Nonwoven composites development (filters, geotextiles, etc.).
  • Circular material research with secondary raw materials.
