Important Information Internship II is conducted at the end of the third year when the academic summer break begins. Every student must complete their internship at factories that are related to their chosen specialization and approved by the Department. Internship Periods: June 15 - July 14, July 15 - August 14, August 15 - September 14 Note: The internship cannot be divided. Students doing internships starting June 15 or July 15 cannot attend summer school. |
Through Textile Engineering Internship II, students have the opportunity to become familiar with production areas where a textile engineer can work in accordance with their chosen specialization, see and learn about the machines they may encounter in their working life, gain familiarity with machines and systems through hands-on work at companies, and identify topics they might enjoy working in.
Purpose and Objectives
In relation to their chosen specialization, students:
| Learn the duties and responsibilities of the textile engineering profession by experiencing them in a real environment |
| Prepare to take responsibility in production processes from raw materials to final products |
| Receive training in feasibility, R&D, planning, design, production, and inspection |
| Gain awareness of professional ethics, human health, occupational safety, quality, and environment |
| Learn the importance of work discipline, teamwork, interdisciplinary cooperation, and human relations through observation |
| Develop verbal and written communication skills, understand the importance of computer and foreign language knowledge |

Finding and Selecting Internship Location The internship location is found by the student themselves or by the internship committee. Internship locations found by students must be approved by the internship committee. Locations found by the committee are announced on the internship board with the application deadline. If there are multiple applications for the same location, selection is made by lottery. The Internship Board should be followed for general announcements. |
Suggested Weekly Program

| 1 | Getting to know the factory and personnel. Learning about the factory's history, machine park, layout, administrative and technical structure. Understanding workflow and production planning. |
| 2 | Production tracking, analysis and solution of problems encountered during production. Learning about existing machines, their functions and settings. |
| 3 | Hands-on production work and production control. Performing product quality control. |
| 4 | Observing contributions of design, purchasing, sales, and marketing departments. Environmental health and worker safety. Final product controls, file preparation, and necessary corrections. |
Evaluation
|
1. The internship evaluation form filled by the responsible engineer or authorized person is evaluated by the department internship coordinator. 2. If the evaluation form is positive, the internship is concluded as SUCCESSFUL. |
